What depression can look like
Depression is not the same as having a bad week. It tends to settle in and stay, affecting how you sleep, eat, think, and relate to people. Some people feel heavy and sad. Others feel flat, numb, or irritable. Many describe losing interest in things they used to enjoy. If this sounds familiar, reaching out is a strong first step.
Common signs
Emotional
Persistent sadness or emptiness, hopelessness, guilt, irritability, and loss of interest in things you used to care about.
Physical
Changes in sleep or appetite, low energy, slowed movement or restlessness, and unexplained aches.
Behavioral
Withdrawing from people, trouble getting through daily tasks, difficulty concentrating, and neglecting responsibilities.
How we treat depression
Therapy
CBT, behavioral activation, and interpersonal therapy to rebuild routines, challenge negative patterns, and reconnect with what matters.
Medication
Antidepressants and other options prescribed and monitored by a psychiatric provider, adjusted carefully based on how you respond.
Combined care
Therapy and medication together are often more effective than either alone. Your providers coordinate so nothing works against the other.
You do not have to do this alone
