Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Don’t see yours? Call us or book an appointment and we will walk you through it.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No. You can book directly with us online or by phone. Some insurance plans require a referral for coverage, our team will verify your coverage and advise you of any costs to you.
What insurance do you accept?
We accept most major commercial plans, Medicaid, and Medicare. Self-pay options are also available. Contact our office to confirm your specific plan before your first visit.
How long does a first appointment take?
Initial psychiatric appointments typically run 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are shorter, generally 20 to 30 minutes. Therapy appointments are usually 45 minutes.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. We provide secure video visits for psychiatry, therapy, and medication management. You must be physically located in Arizona at the time of your appointment.
What ages do you treat?
We care for children (ages 4+), teens, adults, and seniors. Our child and adolescent psychiatrists specialize in patients under 18, and we have providers experienced in geriatric mental health.
Can I see both a psychiatrist and a therapist?
Yes, and we encourage it when appropriate. Our psychiatric providers and therapists work together under one roof, sharing notes and coordinating your treatment plan.
What if I need medication?
If medication is part of your plan, your psychiatric provider will discuss options, start at an appropriate dose, and schedule regular follow-ups to monitor how you respond and adjust as needed.
Are your clinicians bilingual?
Several of our providers and staff speak Spanish. Let us know your language preference when booking so we can match you with the right clinician.
What should I bring to my first visit?
A photo ID, your insurance card, and any prior mental health records if you have them. You may wish to bring a list of current medications and concerns to discuss with your psychiatrist. If you completed our online intake form, that helps too.
How do I cancel or reschedule?
Call our office at least 24 hours before your appointment. Late cancellations and no-shows make it difficult for us to safely monitor your care.
Still have questions?
Our team is happy to help. Call us or book an appointment and we will walk you through everything.
